People born before 1946 are called - The Greatest Generation.
People born between 1946 and 1964 are called - The Baby Boomers.
People born between 1965 and 1979 are called - Generation X.
And people born between 1980 and 2010 are called - Generation Y.
Why do we call the last group -Generation Y ?

Actually Generation X is the 80′s and 90′s.
I have often faulted the Baby Boomers for the attitude of later generations, it started with us. We carved the way to a very permissive, anything goes society so who could blame our kids for acting the way they do but I’m not sure we ever expect it to go to the extent it has.
