Stopped, Harassed And Arrested For Being Black

From Simple Justice law blog

This incident happened last January and is just coming to light. Guess what, there’s video.

A guy just sitting around minding his own business waiting for his kids to get out of school evidently set off some passerby’s “alarm bell”…Ohhh, there’s a Black guy with dreadlocks just sitting there. Obviously he’s up to no good, so I’ll just drop a dime on him.

Scott H. Greenfield does a great analysis of the incident.

The incident, resulting in Lollie’s tasing at the hand of the cop who had no time to waste on Lollie with the niceties good guys reasonably expect, happened last January.  The video showing why the charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct and obstruction of the legal process were dropped wasn’t revealed for six months because the cops didn’t give him back his phone. They’re busy, you know, and it takes a lot longer to return property than it does to seize it.

But Chris Lollie, a father whose only interest is picking up his children, with ten minutes to kill, didn’t anticipate that this was sufficient reason to sufficiently irk the cops that he would end up tased and arrested.  He was just sitting there, a place with a chair, no reason to think it was such a big deal, a horrible crime, that even a guy with dreads wasn’t allowed to sit.  He was just waiting for his children to get out of school, as good fathers do so that they can be there for their children.

It didn’t escalate because Chris Lollie did something unusual to aggravate the situation.  It changed because the male cop, whose name is conveniently unknown, decided that at that very moment in the history of the world, he was going to make this guy’s life very unhappy, without any concern whatsoever for the consequences.

“I’ve got to go get my kids,” the man tells the second officer, pulling his arm away. “Please don’t touch me.”

“You’re going to go to jail then,” the second officer says.

“I’m not doing anything wrong,” the man replies.

At this point, both officers grab the man.

“Come on brother,” the man says, “This is assault.”

“I’m not your brother,” the second officer replies. “Put your hands behind your back otherwise it’s going to get ugly.”

And that’s where it all fell into the rabbit hole.  Mind you, nobody other than Lollie seems to consider that there are children involved, who will be left waiting for a father who was so diligent that he arrived ten minutes early.  Yet, when the school lets out, the children will be standing there, wondering why their father isn’t there to meet them.  They will be frightened. No one else knows that Lollie won’t be there for his kids. The children will stand there until someone, hopefully, notices that they are alone.

This is just frigging pathetic. They don’t teach cops to have common sense anymore. It’s all about making the average citizen bow to their authority, even on something as innocuous as waiting on your kids to get out of school, or your wife/significant other to come out of the beauty salon or what have you.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that over 75 percent of the people who join the police force are idiots who just want to have power and authority over others. This video clearly shows that to be the truth.

This from the gentleman who was accosted by the ignorant cops, on his youtube page:

This is for everyone….
All of my charges were dismissed as of July 31st which means everything I did I had a legal right to do so… You can say as much as you want against my case… But the fact that it was already dismissed shows your opinionated predisposition when you comment saying Ignorant things… I was vindicated of all charges already….
So what’s the debate about again?
If you read some of the other comments on his page, you will see that most people are aghast at the totalitarian actions of the police. But as usual, there are a few idiots who let their racism show through. Like this one:
I’m not buying this ‘going to pick up my kids’ story.  Look how he’s dressed….from his hands you can tell he’s wearing an unfitted overly baggy suit, which just screams “Court Date!”.If someone calls the police and you’re on private property or loitering, you MUST provide ID.  If a cop pulls you over for nothing, you STILL MUST PROVIDE ID.  You don’t just say “No I don’t have to show you anything”.

Guess what people….I’d rather show my ID than make the police think I have something to hide.  That’s all the lady cop wanted, she said,  “Just show me who you are and you can be on your way”.  Showing ID is what ADULTS do.  For all the cops know he could be some employee’s ex stalking them, or any number of trouble makers on record for the area.

This whole “I don’t have to show you anything” is childish crap black people try to use all the time on cops, you could imagine how sick of hearing it they are. They seem to foolishly think you have to of done something wrong to have to show ID…..but I bet when they do something wrong, they won’t want to show ID then either…..so tell me Mr. black man, when the fuck do you deem it ok to ask for your ID?  That’s right, never….because you never want to show ID regardless of the circumstance…  There’s more if you can stomach it.

This guy just showed his true racist colors. There are plenty of people out there of all races and ethnicities who know their rights and know that you don’t have to show ID if there are no charges or reason for being detained.
It seems like there’s a whole lot of extraordinary force being used by cops these days.

  1. Watch the first full interview of Chris Lollie. Chris granted “Filter Free Amerika” his first ever, full length interview detailing his assault and kidnapping by members of the Saint Paul, MN Police Department. He explains in complete detail the events before and after the now viral YouTube video of his incident as well as how it all went down in court when all of his fraudulent charges were thrown out. You will not believe the parts of the story NOT yet made public! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fn_8ErWbqo

  3. WHAT A SAD, SAD REALITY CHECK. I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT IT IS 2015 AND PEOPLE (OR IN THIS CASE COPS) STILL SEE COLOR FIRST. I MEAN REALLY! HAVE WE NOT EVOLVED PAST THE 1950’S. BAD GUYS AND GOOD GUYS COME IN ALL COLORS, ALL GENDERS AND ALL SOCIETY CLASSES. IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE THEN YOU ARE NOT ONLY JUST PLAIN IGNORANT BUT ARE A COMPLETE IDIOT AND I AM EMBARRASSED FOR YOU AND YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. EQUALITY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
