Hi, I’m Mr. G. Most folks call me Mike for short. I’m a 50ish white male, married with three daughters and six, count em, six grandchildren. My wife likes to say we’re survivalists, but I prefer to say we’re just prepared.

I build houses for a living and read and comment on conservative blogs for fun. I like to golf, but Phil Mickelson and Bill Haas don’t have anything to worry about…yet. I also like to carve,( or whittle), and build some of my own furniture.

I don’t know anything about facebook or twitter or any of those other high-tech modes of communication, so don’t expect any of that from me.

I value others’ views and opinions even though I might not necessarily agree with them. I am not politically correct, don’t believe in it, but racial or ethnic slurs WILL NOT be tolerated. Other than that, there’s no rules. Have at it.

Like a lot of you, I used to be apathetic towards politics, but since 2006, I found myself wondering what direction this country was heading. I believe it’s going in the wrong direction and hope to do my small part in changing that. Won’t you all join me.

  1. Thanks for visiting my site and commenting. Glad you found me. I’ll add None Dare Call it Treason to my Amazon list. I have to finish 5000 year leap so I can start Road to Serfdom. Also recently the Last Exit to Utopia by Revel was recommended to me. Blogging sure is expanding my reading list, lol.

  2. Thanks for posting on my blog. I’m just a beginner and have a lot to learn. This blogging community is amazing isn’t it? I found your site because you posted a comment on Smash Mouth Politics. If it’s alright with you, I’ll add your site to my blogroll.

  3. ‘Course that’s okay with me, and I’ll return the favor. CAVEAT: I get about 10 views a day so being on my blogroll is not likely to increase traffic . . .

I’ve been at this since Feb, so three months worth. The blogging community is amazing indeed. Beats trying to talk politics to the other moms on the playground, who mostly don’t wanna hear it.

  4. Thank you. You get about 5 or 6 more viewers a day than I do, lol. Yeah, most people get this certain glaze over their eyes when ever you bring up politics, don’t they.

    Have a good one, Mike

  5. It’s nice to meet another patriot! If Washington Rebel likes and links you, you must be a great guy! In RL it’s hard to find people who are passionate about saving our Country and Politics. In the Blogs, it’s a great group. You’ll luv it.

  6. Hi Mike, I was just browsing around and decided to visit your girl—she’s darn cute…Thanks for taking the time to come back and visit–I like that. I haven’t been doing much on the blog lately, just enough to keep it running. I have been over to Before It’s News sticking my two cents in there and arguing with the rift raft.

Keep up the good work and keep your eye on the ball.

I remember a poem that was posted on the front of a donut shop when I was a little kid it went.

As you ramble on through life brother
    whatever be your goal
keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the hole.

Don’t know who wrote it but I always thought it cute.

  8. Hey Mike! Just stopping by to thank you for visiting my humble blog. It’s great to meet good people like you, and I wish the best for you and your family.
I’ll put your site on my blog roll if that’s okay with you.

  9. Thanks for the blogroll add. I did add ya. I don’t think I will be returning to that. There was too much negativity, not from you, in general. I like to be productive with my time and energy. I’ve had enough of fighting those battles in my college years. I’m all about trying to be positive and perfecting my craft. What was supposed to be a conversation about education turned very ugly quickly. I look forward to conversing here and taking a look around the blog…

  11. Hi Mike,

I posted a reply to you on John Wilders site.
I live in Walhalla, down the Coffee Rd near Buzzards Roost.
Great to see local people that care and are interested in what is going on in our community.
